EL MIRAGE, AZ (CBS5) -

El Mirage police have released new details in the death of a woman whose body was found on a dirt trail at Sunwest Cemetery.

Police said Monday that 25-year-old Kristina West from Wittman, AZ, was shot and killed sometime between 11:30 p.m. on March 31, 2012, and 7 a.m. on April 1, 2012.

"There is nothing at this time that leads us to believe that it happened in another area, but it is still all a preliminary investigation. Detectives are going to be working this for a while," said Det. Kim Walden of the El Mirage Police Department.

El Mirage detectives said they've been canvassing the neighborhoods, looking for information regarding the case. Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
