The markings on his arm read, "Tri for Les"
TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Phoenix-area triathlete is using an alternative platform to sell ads for a worthy cause - his body.
Adam Fuller lost his aunt, Leslie Whitfield, to breast cancer last year after a 19-year battle with the disease.
Now, he is combining his love for triathlons and trying to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in effort he calls "Tri for Les."
He will be competing in the lavaman triathlon in Hawaii on April 1.
He needs $4,100 to meet his goal to compete and says people can buy ad space on his body, such as his legs, arms, neck and face. The ads will get exposure when he competes in the upcoming triathlon.
"It's a huge challenge for a great cause, so I had to get creative with my fundraising tactics," Fuller wrote on his website promoting the initiative.
