TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

Tempe police arrested a 31-year-old man Tuesday in connection with two separate armed robberies that included a carjacking within less than two weeks of each other.

Police said Marcus G. Brantley and a man identified as Kolton Spencer are suspected of robbing, at gunpoint, a Tempe man of his wallet and cell phone and forcing him to drive to an ATM to withdraw cash on Feb. 4. The suspects then let the victim go and left in his 1998 Toyota Camry.

The car was found in Phoenix and was missing the stereo and a 160GB iPod.

On Feb. 16, two robbery victims tentatively identified Brantley and Spencer through photographs from police as the suspects who robbed them at gunpoint as they were walking on South Terrace in Tempe.

The suspects took the victims' backpacks that contained laptops, wallets, a Kindle Fire, iPhones and other items, police said.

Brantley was caught using the victim's stolen credit card at a fast-food restaurant at Southern Avenue and 48th Street and in possession of the Kindle, police said.

Police said Brantley admitted to the second robbery, but declined having a gun. He identified Spencer as the second suspect, police said.

Brantley was charged with 10 counts in connection with the robberies, including kidnapping and armed robbery.

There was no word on the status of Spencer.
