PHOENIX (AP) -
Gov. Jan Brewer is appointing a Yuma County attorney to fill a judicial position on the Yuma County Superior Court.
David Marlow Haws will fill the vacancy created by Judge Andrew Gould, who was appointed to the state appeals court.
Haws has worked for the Yuma County Attorney's Office since 1991. He's currently that county's Supervising Deputy County Attorney.
Brewer released a statement announcing the appointment on Tuesday. Brewer says Haws has had "an impressive legal career" and will be "a tremendous asset to the Yuma County Superior Court."
