Glendale chosen for new outlet mall

GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Tanger Factory Outlet Center, Inc. has chosen Glendale for its next shopping center.

According to Glendale officials, the 328,000 square-foot open-air mall is expected to bring 700 jobs during construction and 900 full- and part-time retail jobs to the Westgate area.

The mall is expected to be open by fall 2012 and will be located near Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue, according to a city press release.

Tanger owns 39 upscale shopping centers in 25 states and Canada.
