MARICOPA, AZ (CBS5) -

The City of Maricopa community has come together to raise money for a 16-year-old cancer patient.

The Fraternal Order of Police along with other community members held a car wash fundraiser over the weekend for Harley Kiholm. Harley has a rare form of cancer called Myxopapillay Ependymoma Intradural Lumsa.

The $570 they raised will go to help Harley's family pay for her treatment.

"This is an excellent way to let the community know how much we appreciate them and help a young girl who still has so much life to live," said Justin Thornton, the City of Maricopa FOP President.

Thornton says an account has been set up at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union. The account number is 0042344200.
