Phoenix Police Chief semi-finalists announced

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The city of Phoenix is getting closer to naming its new police chief. There are seven finalists, and only two are from Phoenix.

They include Joseph Yahner and Kevin Robinson. Other semi-finalists include Robert Davis of San Jose, CA, Michael Dirden of Houston, TX, Daniel Garcia of Dallas, TX, Anne Kirkpatrick of Spokane, WA, Carlos Maldonado of Laredo, TX.

Next week they will each be interviewed by three different panels made up of city and business leaders.

A candidate is expected to be chosen sometime next month.
