Should guns be allowed on school campuses?

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Should Arizona students be allowed to bring guns on campus?

That's the question being discussed by the chiefs of police of the three state universities. In light of recent campus shooting situations, the Arizona University System chiefs of police gathered today at ASU to update the State Board of Regents about campus safety.

"We don't need additional weapons in order to make the campus safe. If that was the case, our statistics would not point out that we have a safe campus now," says ASU Chief of Police John Pickens.

The proposal known as Senate Bill 14-74 would allow anyone 21 or older to carry a gun on campus with a concealed-carry permit.
