PHOENIX (CBS5) -
The Arizona Humane Society constantly fields calls about kittens needing a home. Every Spring, shelters across Arizona take in an overflow of animals due to pet overpopulation. While spaying and neutering pets are ways to prevent overpopulation, many say they can't afford to have the procedures done.
This February, the Arizona Humane Society wants to make sure cat owners forget about the financial strain of spaying their feline. Through their "Beat The Heat" promotion, Arizonans can get their female cats spayed for only $20. The low price is available at the Sunnyslope and the Campus for Compassion public clinics.
Last year, the Arizona Humane Society provided over 21,000 spay and neuter surgeries to both owned and sheltered pets.
