Sheriff Joe Arpaio is welcoming 22 veterans to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
They were hired after returning home from fighting the war, and now they're going through the Maricopa County Sheriff's Detention Academy for a 9 week course.
"My previous military service assisted me in beginning my law enforcement career in 1954, and now I have the privilege to extend this opportunity to veterans today," said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Arpaio vowed to do his part to help returning military service men and women gain employment. He ordered all military resumes received by his agency to be placed at the top of the hiring process. They still must meet strict requirements of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in order to be offered a job.
