SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
This weekend Arizona will kick off many Centennial celebrations but today we celebrated on of this nation's early mail systems, the Pony Express.
On Tuesday, a group of riders left Holbrook and traveled more than 200 miles delivering 20,000 letters by horseback today to Scottsdale's Passing the Legacy sculpture at the Marshall Way Bridge.
Ride organizers told CBS 5 News that with the struggles facing the postal service now, it brings us back to the time when the pony express was a vital part of life.
