PHOENIX (CBS5) -
One of the teens charged with gunning down an ASU student went before a judge this afternoon.
Marion Patterson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Zachary Marco was shot in killed as the suspects robbed him of his laptop and cell phone.
The murder happened in 2010.
CBS 5 News caught up with Zachary's father outside the courthouse after the hearing.
"It brings to an end one stage of the things that have happened after Zachary died that I'm glad to put behind me," shared Dan Marco.
Marco said today was the preliminary bout.
He says the main event will come when the alleged shooter, 20-year-old Louis Harper, goes to trial.
