PHOENIX (AP) -

The Republican who gave Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva a run for his money in 2010 won't try to unseat him again this year.

Ruth McClung says supporters have been asking if she would run in Grijalva's re-numbered 3rd Congressional District, or in the nearby 1st or 3rd districts.

But she says in a statement that she won't. She says questions about whether new district lines will be changed and her desire to maintain her defense contracting job helped her make up her mind not to run.

McClung was a 28-year-old political novice when she challenged Grijalva, attacking him for supporting a boycott of Arizona over its tough new immigration law.

Grijalva beat her by 50 percent to 44 percent to earn a fifth term, a wider margin than many expected.
