A Chinle man was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl in the Flagstaff area, police said.

Julian Tohe, 39, was booked into Coconino County Jail on charges of kidnapping and attempted sexual assault. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.

The victim told officers she was walking home when a man identified as Tohe approached and asked to use her cell phone, according to police.

During the conversation, Tohe allegedly grabbed the girl by the arm and tried to drag her into the wooded area. Officers said the suspect pushed her to the ground and tried to remove her pants but the girl was able to fight off the attack and call police.

Police credit the girl's accurate description of the suspect for a quick arrest in the case.
