Glendale Police Chief Steve Conrad might be going home again after being chosen one of five finalists for police chief of the Louisville, KY, Police Department.

Conrad and the other finalists are being considered by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.

Fischer said he wanted a new chief by April 1, and Conrad's selection as a finalist was confirmed by Tracy Breeden of the Glendale Police Department on Friday morning.

Chief Robert White left the department in December to take the top job in Denver.

Conrad came to Glendale in 2006 from the Louisville Police Department, where he was an assistant chief.

The other finalists, all from Kentucky, were: Yvette Gentry, LMPD Deputy Chief/Patrol Bureau Commander; Rick Sanders, Chief of the Jeffersontown Police Department; Glen Skeens, Chief of Police in Owensboro; Vincent Robison, LMPD Deputy Chief and Chief of Staff.
