Fort Mohave fugitive is arrested in California

Authorities say a Fort Mohave man wanted for failing to appear at his sentencing has been captured in California.

Bullhead City police say 46-year-old Frank Alcala Jr. was taken into custody Thursday night in Ontario by a federal task force.

He's been booked into the West Valley Detention Center in California pending extradition to northwestern Arizona.

Authorities say Alcala fled to his mother's house in California after failing to appear for his sentencing hearing on two counts of misconduct with a weapon in September.

He was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear.

It was unclear Friday whether Alcala has legal representation yet.
