A Buckeye man has been shot in the leg and Buckeye police are looking for two gunmen. Buckeye police spokesman Lt. Jared Griffith says the shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. near 223rd Avenue and Pima Road west of Phoenix.
Two men approached the homeowner as he was taking out the trash. One of the gunmen was apparently wearing a mask.
The victim was armed with a handgun and all three became involved in a shootout. After the shootout, the gunmen fled in a dark colored SUV.
The homeowner was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It's unclear if the wounded man and the gunmen know each other.
