Closing arguments begin in ex-cop's bank robbery trial

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Closing arguments are under way in the trial of a former Phoenix police officer accused of robbing multiple Valley-area banks.

Chad Goulding was booked on multiple counts of armed robbery, kidnapping, theft and aggravated assault.

He's accused of robbing Bank of America branches in Mesa, Glendale, Chandler and Scottsdale over a five-month span from June to November 2006.

The FBI says more than $133,000 in all was taken. Authorities say Goulding was identified and captured through detective work and tips from the public.
