Sprinklers aid firefighters' attack on Mesa blaze

A fire held in check by a sprinkler system helped east Valley firefighters quickly attack a blaze on Wednesday.

Crews from Mesa and Tempe extinguished a fire in a storage area in back of a vacant restaurant near Dobson and Broadway.

It took less than 15 minutes for 16 firefighters to knock down the fire, said Forrest Smith, spokesman for the Mesa Fire Department.

There were no injuries. Smith said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
