How Rude! Phoenix lands on 'Rudest Cities' list

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix is a tourist hot spot but apparently it could use an attitude adjustment.

According to a new poll in Travel + Leisure magazine the Phoenix & Scottsdale area ranked ninth on this year's "America's Rudest Cities list. That is up from last year when the Valley ranked 12th.

New York City took the top spot followed by Miami and Washington.

Cities were ranked on food, people, nightlife, and quality of life.

The Valley came in last for its summer heat, 4th of July celebrations, and civic pride. It was also at the bottom of the list for architecture and pedestrian friendliness.

The area did get positive marks for its winter weather and New Year's Eve celebrations.
