Authorities are looking for an Elmira, NY, woman they say is missing and/or in danger and could be in the Grand Canyon area.
Elmira police said 21-year-old Jessica L. Ronhock was last seen Jan. 10, at Elmira College, where she left a note for her roommates stating she was leaving for a family emergency.
Ronhock's family said there was no emergency, that she hadn't returned home, and that they were not aware she had left college. She last had contact with family members on Jan. 12.
Police confirmed Ronhock had been in Chattahoochee, FL, on Jan. 12. Her credit cards were used in Baytown, TX, on Jan. 17, and Williams, AZ, on Jan. 18. Police said that video footage from a Days Inn at Williams in northwest Arizona shows a woman who appears to be Ronhock.
Ronhock is involved in ROTC and might be making contact with other members of ROTC along her travels, according to police.
Police said they think she is headed for the Grand Canyon area, and that she is traveling alone, but is making hotel reservations for two adults.
Ronhock is described as 5'7" tall, 150-160 pounds with brown hair and eyes. She has a tattoo of a rose on her left shoulder and another of a butterfly on her right hip.
Police say she has cut her hair to just below the ears.
Police said she was driving a white 2000 Jeep Cherokee that was packed with items. The Jeep has numerous bumper stickers on the back, and Massachusetts license plate 66JX98.
