Fire crews investigating overnight arson at warehouse

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Investigators say arson is to blame for a two-alarm fire overnight at a custom furniture business in Phoenix.

Dozens of firefighters from neighboring cities were called to West Knudsen Drive to help put it out.

Since the business deals with wood, there was plenty of fuel for the fire but fire officials say the business was equipped to put a fire out.

"The sprinklers did their job, they put the fire out at a fairly early stage but the water in and of itself does damage to the equipment that they have inside," said Captain Willie Nelson with the Phoenix Fire Department.

The fire started around midnight and once it was out fire officials were able to determine it was arson. Officials say there were at least twenty spots where fires began or were intentionally set.

Police officers found a broken window where they believe the arsonist made their way inside.

Fire officials hope security cameras caught the arsonists and will lead to arrests.
