A local business owner and Air National Guard Captain is throwing his name in the running for congress in Arizona's 9th Congressional District.
"It is time for our government to confront the predicament it has put us in; the United States is facing an unprecedented economic crisis that can no longer be ignored. This administration and the Congress simply cannot be allowed to kick the can down the road any longer," Travis Grantham, a Republican, said in a statement announcing his candidacy.
Grantham is a Scottsdale native who graduated from ASU before joining his family business at International Air Response.
Also in the running is Democrat Kyrsten Sinema who earlier this month announced her resignation from the Arizona State Senate to run for the U.S. House seat.
Democratic State Sen. David Schapira of Tempe has said he may run.
