GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A local pizzeria is making sure the family of a fallen Glendale officer is able to attend a memorial for him in Washington D.C.

Glendale Officer Brad Jones was killed in the line of duty last year.

In May his name will be added to the National Memorial during National Police Week in Washington D.C.

La Piazza Al Forno in historic downtown Glendale stepped in to help make that trip a bit easier.

"I just feel like because we're part of the downtown community, we're part of the Glendale family that it's needed to help out. I felt like it was something that we really need to do," restaurant owner Justin Piazza said.

The pizza cafe is donating half of the proceeds from its sales from 11 a.m. to 8:30pm.
