PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Phoenix police officers were all around Arcadia High School for extra security Friday as school let out. Students were worried rumors of retaliation could be real, something they called unfair since it was over something they had nothing to do with.

"The whole student body is walking on egg shells, just keeping their heads low and their mouths shut at this point. The retaliation is just rumors just started by people," said Sam Henderson, an Arcadia senior.

The rumors about threats came from a YouTube video featuring a profanity-laden rant from two young girls about their hatred of Mexican illegal immigrants.

During the video, the girls are heard saying, "It is like teachers having to print up separate homework for you because you do not know God d*** English, how about this... teachers not holding the rest of the class back because they are trying to teach these a**holes how to speak English."

The two girls were linked through internet posts to Arcadia high school, and some even claimed they were students there. The claims have now put a negative spotlight on the school.

"I am afraid that what they did represents all of us, when it really doesn't," said Shane Williamson, an Arcadia student.

The claims forced Arcadia's principal to release a letter to parents refuting the claims the girls were students and make a school-wide announcement about the video and rumors.

"I've never seen a principal stop every teacher to do an announcement, I though someone had died or something more serious had occurred," said Mario Gates, an Arcadia senior.

However, the announcements and letter only seemed to add fuel to the fire.

"It was her duty to do it, but everyone is going to look it up now. And now I am a little worried about what will happen once more people know about it because its views have already tripled," said Gates.

The school asked police to look into the video. A spokesman from the Phoenix Police Department told CBS 5 News they cannot confirm the girls in the video are even from Arizona.

In the meantime, the school has postponed a dance that was set for the weekend as a safety precaution.

The girls have since made a video apologizing. Watch the YouTube video by clicking here.
