PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

The statewide DUI holiday task force has arrested more than 4,000 suspected drunk drivers in Arizona since Nov. 24.

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety said in a news release Sunday that 1,085 drivers have been arrested for extreme DUI and 385 people had been arrested for aggravated driving under the influence.

One promising note, the number of sober designated drivers contacted during the holiday task force grew to 1927.   That's an increase of 28 percent over last year.

The statistics cover from Nov. 24 to Jan. 1.
