More holiday shoppers are expected to shop online this season than ever before. Meantime, computer hackers are using programs to automatically troll for passwords for credit cards and back accounts.
Experts suggest you follow some simple tips keep your passwords safe while holiday shopping.
- Choose the longest password you can
- Mix letters, numbers and symbols
- Make sure the shopping site you use contains the letters, "HTTPS," which means the site is secure
- Use a prepaid credit card if you want to be extra careful
A carefully chosen password can make it nearly impossible for thieves to access your financial information.
