Suspect arrested at Phoenix motel

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A suspect with a warrant out for his arrested was taken into custody at 1600 N. Black Canyon Friday morning, police said.

Police say they were at a motel to serve the warrant when one of the officers noticed suspicious people. One person reached into his waistband and pulled out what police thought was a gun. It was reportedly a cell phone.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said neither the officer nor the suspect who is in custody was hurt.

The suspect's identity is not being released at this time.
