The Perry Branch Library is scheduled to reopen 10 a.m. Friday after two health samples collected there tested positive for Legionella bacteria, a type of pneumonia.
The Town of Gilbert closed the library Monday night as a precautionary measure.
"What was found here at the library is no different than what would probably be found in many homes," Dr. Bob England, director of Maricopa County Department of Public Health, said on Tuesday. "There is no risk to this building."
On the heels of the closure, the Chandler Unified School District decided to close Perry High School on Tuesday. School officials said they would conduct independent testing.
"While there have been no reports of illness (at the school), we are taking extra precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff," Superintendent Camille Casteel said.
The school will resume operations on Monday, following the holiday break, the Chandler Unified School District has announced.
