Police: 3 men arrested in Tucson robbery spree

Posted: Updated:

Three men are in custody in connection with a string of robberies in Tucson.

Police say 26-year-old Axel Jaimez, 18-year-old Robert Cota and 21-year-old Olivaz Cruz were arrested Sunday on robbery-related and auto-theft related felony charges.

They say the men allegedly stole a convertible plus personal belongings from a group of women leaving a Halloween party about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the men flashed handguns at the women and demanded the keys to the car as well as the women's wallets, purses and cell phones.

The men then allegedly robbed the owner of a hot dog stand at gunpoint Sunday night and later allegedly robbed two men and stole their car.

Officers stopped the stolen convertible about 9:30 p.m. and arrested the suspects. It's unclear whether they have lawyers.
