World’s tallest fresh-cut tree arrives in Anthem

Posted: Updated:

The temperature may still be hovering around 90 degrees but the Christmas spirit is in Anthem.

The tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree in America has arrived after a four-day trip from northern California. Even Santa was on hand to make sure the tree arrived safely.

The 110-foot white fur pulled into the Outlets at Anthem on Tuesday morning.

The tree is taller than some notable things. It's taller than seven double-decker buses stacked one on top of the other (105 feet), Niagara Falls (American side), Mt. Rushmore from the President's chins to the tops of their heads and the Sauroposeidon which is the world's tallest dinosaur.

Over the next 14 days, the tree will be moved into position, shaped with 1,000 live branches ranging from 3 to 13 feet, strung with 150 strands of lights stretching a total length of nearly three miles and decorated with more than 6,000 ornaments that measure 4 to 11 inches in circumference and large fabric bows.

It will be topped with a 3-foot star handcrafted from copper.

All the decorations should be in place by Nov. 11. The tree lighting spectacular is scheduled for Nov. 19.
