Driver flown to hospital after car slams into tree

Phoenix firefighters had to extricate the driver of a car that slammed against a tree in Goodyear before he could be airlifted to a local hospital Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near Elliot and Hacienda roads in Goodyear. News helicopter footage showed the driver's side of the car caved in.
