Dozens of people staged a protest at Sky Harbor International Airport Monday afternoon, upset about what they say are low wages and poor working agreements for some facility employees.
The demonstrators say many custodial workers at Sky Harbor are earning minimum wage with no paid sick leave or vacation days.
The protest occurred on the same day a new report was released that shows many workers in Arizona are being paid poverty wages.
The company contracted by the City of Phoenix to clean the airport is called GCA.
GCA acknowledges many workers do start out at $7.35 an hour minimum wage but that they are given the chance to participate in health care and 401k plans with matching funds.
