Phoenix police have arrested a man on suspicion he stabbed his wife Tuesday morning.
The Phoenix Police Department's Major Offender Unit spent the day tracking down leads and located the suspect hiding out in a friends house. The man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody without incident
The stabbing happened in a west Phoenix neighborhood near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.
The woman was confronted by her husband about a new relationship she was involved in, said Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department. A verbal altercation turned physical and the victim was assaulted with a rock and was then stabbed, Crump said.
The woman, a mother of three children, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She remained in serious condition Wednesday morning. Police began searching for the husband after claiming he planned to kill his wife's new boyfriend.
