PD: Girlfriend shoots Phoenix man in stomach

A Phoenix man was taken to a hospital after he was apparently shot by his girlfriend early Monday morning.

Phoenix police said they found the wounded man around 3:40 a.m. in the parking lot of the Westcreek Apartments complex at 4000 W. Peoria Ave.

Investigators said the told them his girlfriend had shot him.  Police said they found the girlfriend nearby and took her into custody.

Police said the victim is expected to survive.
