SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5/AP) -
Two women on horseback were attacked by a swarm of bees early Thursday evening in Rio Verde.
Mark Cichocki of Rural-Metro Fire Department said paramedics found the women, ages, 60 and 61, near 136th Street and Rio Verde Drive north of Fountain Hills about 8 p.m.
The 61-year-old was stung about 50 times and the other woman only once.
Cichocki said the horses were not hurt but did temporarily flee the scene.
The women were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
