A couple of Phoenix roommates and co-workers have been arrested and accused of committing sex acts against young boys and then sharing the evidence on the Internet.
The investigation started when FBI agents in another state recently discovered sexually graphic videos and pictures involving the boys when they were as young as 5.
Investigators then traced the crimes back to the Valley.
Bradley Gietz admitted to taking photos of him molesting one of his relatives in 2001 while living in Mesa.
According to investigators, Gietz also admitted to posting the pictures on the Internet.
A longtime friend of the Gietz family heard the news and immediately thought of the victim, who is now 15.
"I know that he's struggled a lot emotionally and I never really knew what was going on but that's a huge shock. This is nothing that I ever suspected but it makes a lot of sense and you can definitely see the effects," said Kayla Crockett.
Gietz's current roommate, Jose Luis Juarez, was also arrested in the past week after FBI agents discovered video, which investigators believe shows Juarez molesting another young boy.
Juarez and Gietz work together at a McDonald's near 19th Avenue and Northern in Phoenix.
According to court paperwork, Juarez denied the allegations when interviewed by detectives.
