Blind Mesa guitarist jams with Bono, U2

Adam Bevell, 36, still can't believe he was up on stage with music legend Bono and the rock band, U2.

The Mesa man was at a U2 concert in Nashville on Saturday night, when he went from devoted fan to performer.

"I don't know how else to describe it," said Bevell. "It was one of those moments that was just magical."

"Even still talking about it, I get emotional because I know how much it means to him," said Bevell's wife, Andrea.

Bevell said that he was standing in the front row holding a sign that read, "Blind Guitar Player. Bring me up!"

Just when the show seemed like it was over, the father of four got the call to go on-stage, Bevell said.

"It took me a second. I had no idea what was going on because in my mind they had left and walked off," said Bevell. "I had no idea Bono was still there. Instantly, I was lifted over that front rail and hoisted on stage by the security guards. Before I knew it, I could hear Bono's voice saying, 'What do you want to play, man?'"

However, the night only got better.

Moments before Bevell was helped off stage, Bono gave him his guitar, a Gretsch Green Irish Falcon, one of only a few others like it in the world.

"I took the guitar off and handed it to him, and then he turned and said I want you to have it," said Bevell. "I said no way. For me, it was just an out-of-body experience. I was there, but I was floating. It was the most amazing experience."
