OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Texas Rangers wrapped up a three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics with a 3-0 victory this afternoon. Martin Perez pitched his second consecutive shutout to extend his scoreless innings streak to 26. The Rangers moved a half-game ahead of Oakland in first place in the AL West with their first sweep of the A's since August 2011.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have activated Cole Hamels from the disabled list to make his season debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 30-year-old left-hander was sidelined for the first three weeks because of biceps tendinitis. He'll try for his 100th regular-season victory tonight.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The Oakland A's have rejected a deal to play at its ballpark for the foreseeable future, saying the 10-year lease extension offer doesn't meet all their requirements. The Oakland Tribune reports the team's rejection came just an hour after the joint board that runs the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum complex announced the extension proposal.
