Emmy award-winning journalist Katie Baker is a meteorologist, reporter and anchor who loves to tell a good story.
While still attending college, Katie started her broadcast career at KLEW-TV in Lewiston, Idaho. She gave the evening weather forecasts and filled in for the janitor when he was on vacation.
A year later, she moved to Spokane, Wash., to work at KREM-TV as its morning and noon meteorologist. After four years, Katie moved to Portland, Ore., to work at KOIN-TV. There, Katie was the morning/noon anchor for Good Morning, Northwest.
Then Katie got a job at KUTV in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2005. Her assignments took her to major wildfires across the Uinta Mountains to the Crandall Canyon Mine disaster in northwestern Utah.
Katie also traveled to Camp Pendleton in San Diego, where she followed Marines-in-the-making at boot camp. One of Katie's favorite assignments was flying with the Thunderbirds on their way to Miami, Fla., for the Super Bowl in 2007.
Katie attended Mississippi State University and is a certified Broadcast Meteorologist. She also has a degree in Communications from the University of Idaho.
Katie is excited to call Phoenix home and enjoys exploring everything the Valley has to offer. When she's not at work, Katie spends every second she can with her husband and their two boys.
