Lisa Leigh Kelly has been a television news journalist since 1992. She joined the KPHO newsteam in 2006 after spending five years in Philadelphia reporting for WCAU-TV.
During her career Lisa has traveled around the world to 38 different countries, covering news both overseas and stateside. She reported on Princess Diana's funeral from London.
Lisa was a White House Correspondent for the Tribune stations (including WGN-TV) during President Clinton's second administration, during which she covered the Clinton impeachment scandal from the White House and the War in Kosovo from the Pentagon.
Later she covered the 2000 presidential election controversy from West Palm Beach, Fla.,, for Orlando TV station WFTV. More recently, she covered the September 11th tragedy in New York City.
Lisa also has lived overseas in both London and then Mongolia, where she trained a newsroom of Mongolian reporters how to cover politics during a national election.
She also provided reports on the election there for CNN. Her work has landed her on national media outlets such as the Today Show, Fox News Channel, MSNBC & CNN.
In 1995, she anchored the morning news for KTBC-TV in Austin, Texas. She also anchored the news for KCCN-TV in Monterey, Calif., and WENY-TV in Elmira, NY.
Lisa is a sixth generation native of Texas and a journalism graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
In her spare time she and her husband Tim attempt to manage their non-stop romper room with their three young children.
Lisa is a self-described health food nut and enjoys public speaking, especially to women's groups. She is also an accomplished pianist and leads music at her church.
