Greg Gurule

Weekend Anchor, Reporter

CBS 5 News Reporter/Anchor Greg Gurule may be new on the scene in Phoenix, but he has more than 30 years of news and broadcast experience behind him.

Gurule, who comes to CBS 5 News from Albuquerque CBS affiliate KRQE, has also worked in the San Francisco and Denver TV markets as an anchor and reporter.

"Each market has its nuances, opportunities and needs," says Gurule. He says every market has people who deserve representation -- not only for their needs, but for what they think is right -- and it's a reporter's job to help them.

Gurule’s broadcast career started in radio news and programming but quickly expanded into weathercasting, talk show host, sports anchor and news as he moved into television.

He has covered a wide range of stories during his years in the business, court cases to wildfires, but he is proudest of is his work as a consumer reporter/advocate, where he was able to help people deal with problems while avoiding the pitfalls they face every day.
