About Care: Support Services For The Homebound

About Care offers transportation and support services to homebound residents in Chandler and Gilbert in order to allow the frail elderly and physically challenged to remain in their homes and live with self-respect and dignity.

The organization's mission is achieved through the dedication and compassion offered by About Care's trained volunteers.

About Care volunteers provide transportation for medical appointments, shopping trips and errands. They also offer caregiver relief, friendly visits, reassurance phone calls and minor repairs, as well as dinner delivery, pet therapy and business help.

About Care matches volunteers' experience to the support needs of its clients so that the clients can maintain a quality of life within their homes. To achieve the best volunteer-client match, About Care requires a screening process to assess a volunteer's interests and experience in providing volunteer support services.

Volunteer hours are flexible, with a commitment of two to four hours per month. Hours are based on each week's need. Volunteers and clients are matched by zip code.

Volunteers must be at least 18 and are required to complete a volunteer training session.

All Arizona residents are needed and welcomed!
