| Floyd Landis | PhonakSan Diego resident Floyd Landis, who rides for Phonak, has had a strong early season, notching overall victories in the Tour of Georgia, Paris-Nice and the Tour of California. He also won the individual time trials in Georgia and California. The 31-year-old won three individual stages and placed 9th overall in last year's Tour de France with Phonak. He rode with Lance Armstrong's Postal team from 2002 to 2004. | |
| Levi Leipheimer | GerolsteinerLevi Leipheimer, 33, of Gerolsteiner, won King of the Mountains, the prologue and placed 6th overall in the Tour of California this year. He has never won a Tour de France stage, but in 2002 and 2004 he was the second-highest American finisher after Lance Armstrong and he placed sixth overall last year. Other 2005 highlights included taking overall honors in the Tour of Germany, third in the Dauphine Libere and second in the Tour of Georgia. |
