PHOENIX -- An award-winning sportswriter and one of the most respected golf analysts in the world has published a blog that says Tiger Woods had cosmetic surgery and dental work done in the Valley.Furman Bisher posted a letter that he claims is from a trustworthy journalist. The letter said Tiger's wife allegedly hit him in the face with a nine iron on Thanksgiving Night after finding a text message from another woman on his phone. She apparently broke his teeth and gashed his face, the letter said. The letter said Woods couldn't meet with authorities in Florida three times after the Thanksgiving crash because he was in the Valley having cosmetic surgery and dental work done.Meantime, Woods' problems at home are apparently being felt by the companies that pay to have Woods endorse them.According to researchers at the University of California-Davis, the total losses for shareholders at companies like Gillette and AT&T are as much as 12 billion dollars. Two economics professors looked at stock market returns for 13 trading days after Woods' car crash, leading up to the day Woods announced his indefinite leave from golf. The report shows investors in three sports related companies, EA Sports, Nike and Gatorade, fared the worst. Consulting firm Accenture reported no negative financial effects connected to Woods. Before the scandal broke, Woods was earning about 100 million dollars a year in endorsements.
