Kate Hamilton, PI, is shell-shocked from a case gone mortally bad.

On the way to respite in small-town Gospel, Idaho, in a move so not Kate, she proposes a one-nighter to a hottie at a hotel bar.

Shot down, Kate heads on to Gospel and meets Rob Sutter, the gorgeous ex-pro hockey star and community pillar her grandfather thinks might be her Mr. Right.

In reality, Rob's Mr. Thanks, but No Thanks on the No-Strings Hook-Up from the bar.

But why does he fight his attraction for her once he realizes Kate's not "that kind of girl?"

A terrific writer, Rachel Gibson handles some fairly weighty material with a deft hand.

She keeps it entertaining with witty, meaningful dialogue, and by exploring small-town eccentricities of appealing secondary characters.
