Montreal, QC -- (Sports Network) - The Calgary Flames have acquired forward Brandon Prust from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for defenseman Jim Vandermeer.

Vandermeer, a veteran of six NHL seasons, played in 45 games for the Flames last season. In addition to 108 penalty minutes, he tallied one goal and six assists.

Prust was originally selected 70th overall by the Flames in the 2004 draft, and spent time with Calgary in the 2006-07 and 2008-09 seasons. In 36 games last year with the Flames and Coyotes, Prust registered one goal and two assists.
