Missing Pilot Family Seeks Help

POSTED: 2:33 pm MST October 3, 2006
UPDATED: 3:15 pm MST October 3, 2006

The families of a pilot and passenger in a Cessna missing since Sept. 24 seek help in helping find the plane and its occupants.

Phoenix attorney William Westover and a passenger, Marcy Randolph, were flying in a 1966 Cessna 182, tail #2700Q, white with brown stripes, which left from the Deer Valley Airport on Sept. 24, 2006.

It is believed that the aircraft was headed for Sedona, Ariz., although no flight plan was filed.

A civil air patrol search began the next day, but as of today, no trace of the plane or its occupants has been found.

The families have created a Web Site to disseminate known flight details and gather any information that could assist the ongoing search effort.

People outdoors on Sept. 24 who were in the area being searched near Sedona and may have seen anything possibly related to a crash are asked to post remarks at the Web site.

Anyone who may have been in the area being searched on or after Sept. 24 is asked to post records or observations of any information at the Web site that may be relevant to the search.

Those with direct knowledge of this flight or the possible whereabouts of its occupants are asked to contact the City of Phoenix Missing Persons Unit, 602-261-8042 or visit their Web site for further information.

According to a Glendale Community College statement, Randolph is the daughter of Glendale Community College President Emeritus Dr. Phil Randolph, who served the Maricopa Community College District for more than 30 years prior to his retirement as president in 2005. Phil Randolph has continued working for the Maricopa County Community College District in retirement.
