UPDATED: 8:36 pm MST December 30, 2009

Tempe police have released a surveillance image of one of two men wanted in connection with a home invasion Tuesday morning.

The photo was taken from a nearby Compass Bank ATM showing a man attempting to remove money from the victim’s account.

The men had beaten the victim until she gave up her debit card and her PIN code, police said.

The incident reportedly happened in a quiet neighborhood near McClintock Drive and Warner Road.

The 51-year-old woman, who was home alone at the time, told police two men came into her home through the back door.

"I had no idea there was someone in here. They just came rushing at me and started hitting," she said.

Once inside, they started beating her and dragging her around the house as they grabbed items to steal, police said.

The woman said she was forced to tell the suspects the PIN number to her bank card, police said.

“These two men are very, very dangerous,” said Sgt. Dan Masters of the Tempe Police Department. “They did some horrific things to her physically. Beat her up, did some damage to the house and pretty much tortured and kidnapped her for a half-hour in her own home before she was able to escape and run across the street.”

The men are described as black and in their 20s. One of the men is described as 6 feet tall, with red and black shoes and tan gloves.

The other man was last seen wearing blue jeans with distinctive designs on the back pockets.

People with information are requested to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-3111 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
