Marijuana Valued At $3,000, Officers Say

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Douglas, Ariz., arrested a 19-year-old University of Arizona student Sunday evening on drug smuggling charges, authorities said.

According to a news release from CBP, the student, who was not identified, was carrying two packages of marijuana wrapped in gym clothes. The student had also taped two more packages of marijuana to his inner thighs.

The two pounds of marijuana discovered have an estimated street value of $3,000, CBP said.

CBP officers seized the marijuana and held the UA student for questioning, authorities said.
